The dates for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have been formally announced by the Ghana Education Service (GES). A letter sent to all Regional Directors of Education states that the WASSCE will be held from August 4 to September 19, 2025, while the BECE will be held from June 9 to June 16, 2025.

The letter added that more information on the candidate registration procedure will be made available shortly by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). As soon as the registration period is confirmed, school heads will be informed.
To make sure that all Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools are aware of this material, GES has asked Regional Directors of Education to share it with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education. It is expected of schools to effectively educate their pupils for these important tests.
