The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has been instructed by Lydia Alhassan, Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, to send water tankers to a number of Accra communities that are experiencing problems with their water supply.
This is in response to the company's explanation that the supply problems were caused by a significant pipe rupture in Dodowa, which provides water to the impacted communities.
The minister chastised the GWCL for neglecting to notify customers during her visit to the ruptured pipe site, and she insisted that they offer concise justifications for the water shortages.
