Adamtey, Nene Drolor Bosso I won the election for the Council of State in the Greater Accra Region.
His closest opponent, former Greater Accra Regional Minister Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, received 16 votes, while he received 40 out of 58. Three candidates—Obed Nyarko, Albert Borketey Naawu, and Musah Ziyad—withdrew from the contest before to the start of voting. Redeemer Worwui, Annan Hebert Nii Aryee, Samuel Duah, Sampson Seyram Kwadzo Agbeamabiese, Horvey Charles Yaw, Joseph Tetteh Sottie, and Edmund Siaw Akugbey were among the other candidates who did not receive any votes. Kwabillna Ampong, however, was able to obtain one vote throughout the summer.Chaos briefly interrupted the election process, but after police intervention, order returned.
The winner had previously promised to speak for the people of the area and support initiatives to make it one of the safest, strongest, and most prosperous in the nation, despite his inability to give a victory speech.
Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Ocloo, who was present at the poll, extended gratitude to all stakeholders for ensuring a successful process. She also reaffirmed her dedication to the growth of the area.
"As Regional Minister, it was my responsibility to ensure peace, and that is what has been demonstrated. To ensure that we accomplish our objectives, we shall enlist the support of everyone," she stated.
Speaking after the conclusion of the polls, Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister of Local Government, also reiterated his dedication to promoting harmony and collaboration.
He declared, "As Local Government Minister, we are prepared to ensure regional cohesion, including those who withdrew from the race, in conjunction with Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo."
He also exhorted everyone, including those who might be unhappy with the results of the election, to respect Ghana's democratic institutions.
