Ahead of the CAF U20 AFCON, the Flying Eagles resume their camping.
Written by Niyi Busari According to BSNSports.com.ng, Nigeria's Flying Eagles have returned to their campsite in Abuja in preparation for the 2025 CAF U20 African Nations Cup in Cote D'Ivoire. The players had their first training session on Monday at the FIFA Goal Project, Package B, Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, where coach Aliyu Zubair gave them a lot of drills. On Tuesday, they had two training sessions (morning and afternoon). Nigeria qualified for the CAF age-grade AFCON finals after winning the WAFU B U20 championship two times in a row.The dates of the 2025 CAF youth championship are April 26–May 18. Twelve nations—Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Egypt, and Morocco—have qualified and will compete for FIFA U20 World Cup tickets. The tournament draw has not been held by CAF.
Teams that advanced to the semifinals of the competition immediately qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, and this tournament also serves as the African qualifiers for that competition.
The reigning champions are Senegal.
