 The Volta Region police have apprehended three suspects who were caught stealing an ECG transformer. The transformer, valued at several thousand Ghana cedis, was reported stolen by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) after it went missing earlier this month.

According to reports, the suspects were caught red-handed in the act of stealing the transformer by a security patrol team. They were quickly apprehended and taken into custody where they were interrogated by the police.

During their interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to stealing the transformer with the intent to sell it for scrap. They revealed that they had planned the theft for several weeks and had studied the location of the transformer before executing their plan.

The ECG has expressed their gratitude to the police for their quick action in apprehending the suspects. They also called on the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The suspects will be arraigned before a court of law where they will face charges for theft and vandalism. The ECG has also vowed to take stricter measures to secure their equipment and protect their assets from theft.
